You once told me that for every human-being there is another one one who is meant for you, and sooner or later you will find each other . . . if not in this lifetime then in another one,
“You see, that’s what the next world is all about ” you said, and smiled. You became very quiet, and turned your face away and looked out of the window. I could tell that you didn’t want to talk about it anymore, it had made you sad and melancholic. It made you think about all the things that perhaps it’s best not to think about . . .
It was then that I told you my story ~

I believe this. But now with experience, I also believe that when people grow in a spiritual-wise sense that may not happen with a soul mate and one day, you find that your soul mate is no longer on the same page.
Why?
Because we are individuals with different responses.
So, we move on, reluctantly~

Another lifetime ago I met this man.
I met him in a strange way, and I had a feeling that I’d known him from some other place, it was as if he were not new to me . . . and I was attracted to him since the moment I knew he existed. He didn't feel the same. Not then. But I've been in love with him ever since. I never fell in love with him. I have always loved him. I didn't have to fall in love because I’d never stopped loving him. He wasn’t like anyone I’d ever know, he reminded me of no one and everyone.
There were nights when he took away my sleep, but I was never tired, he knew what made this world go round, and he also knew how to make it stop. He made me laugh with a smile, and question truth with a pause between two words, he recited poetry while I kissed him, and he told me about his scars while we made love.
He asked me questions while he caressed me, and he chased away the shadows and took me into the light. He knew how to make me forget everything when he spoke, and his voice would cure my wounds. But he could kill with a word.
This man is still the fire that gives me light in these long winter nights, and he is still the light that keeps me warm. One day he will take me by the hand and together we will cross all the bridges ahead. I’ll climb the ladder to the stars with him . . .
I love him so much it sometimes hurts. But to be hurt by him is like standing out in the rain watching a rainbow.
I can't be without him. I can't live without his love. I can't live without his strength.
I love him. And I always will, in this life and in those to come.
