I don't see why gays can't be in the military.
I know Clinton wanted them in but ended up with his "don't ask, dont' tell" policy instead.
Gays like being in the military when there are no wars, but how willing are they to actually see combat?
My friend's brother went into the navy, [not gay but a married man] an Australian born Portuguese man who grew up in Sth Africa and who owned many businesses and was actually a millionaire when he came back to Australia [from Sth Africa] but lost a lot of it when he got back here,.. decided to join the Australia forces [Navy] and learn to become an electrician. Well, he learned that and then time came to going to Iraq he opted out of the Navy. So Tax payers paid for his new trade.
He is back in Sth Africa now trying to become a millionaire again and he is divorced.
