from that indifferent voice that once was love, the hollow sounds of chatter and echoing laughter.
Steel our resolve to say never again and step out into the night, wipe the slate and close the pain.
The wrenching feeling will pass life and time will hurry by and perhaps now and then might we consider the loss, and all that might have been . . .

Steel our resolve to say never again and step out into the night, wipe the slate and close the pain. That is well written....I like that bit.....some pain never goes away....it just leaves a hole.....and you learn to live with the hole....as long as you know why it was left there in the first place.

" . . .upon that misty night in secrecy, beyond such mortal sight without guide or light than that which burned so deeply in my heart that fire 'twas led me on and shown more bright than the noonday sun to where he waited still it was a place where no one else could ever come."
From Dark Night of the Soul ~ St. John of the Cross
Like flames they rose to heaven the spark of pure fire is released when the heart breaks . . .
