No, her cat went missing and she had left home... it was her cat when she was living with her mother... she asked about it  yrs later and was told the Chinese probably caught it and turned it into dimsims and she wouldn't be wrong because they actually do that sort of thing and skin the cats for their fur.

The thing that sounds odd to me is that she obviously hadn't interacted with her mother enough over two years to know her cat had gone missing.  Which is why it adds to her creepdom, I guess.
