We need to start thinking of new building ideas if we are to live in the Australian bush with floods and fires… if you’re in an area where flood has happened before then you better start thinking of making more solid foundations as we have ……
This is what we have, solid, reconstituted limestone blocks.
There is no reason not to make a fire proof cellar under there…. We didn’t but we could have. And seriously thought about it.
Cellars are no good for flood protection but they could stop a house being washed away...
