Ive said it before and will say it again, I didnt retire from flaming. What Princess of PT and I did when we embarked on this place was to retire from that flametown scene and get away from the people whose highlight of the day, every day/week/month is uncovering a tidbit of personal information on someone else and using it to "flame" that person. Your kid died; You killed him; He hated you and committed suicide because he couldnt stand you.

It use to be that for the most part, flaming at flame forums was a battle of wit, creativity, originality, punch lines and humour. If someone like Buzzsaw or Cardie or Lou Cypher or Ruthless1 (RIP) or Brent or Summer of George flamed you in a match, after it was over you might tell them or they to you that a certain line or post was hilarious and both laugh about it.
Hell for me, it was an honor to get flamed in a story by George. I looked forward to those story flames more than anything because they would make me laugh out of my 70's disco toupee and copper arthritis bracelet (which he portrayed me in). THAT is what was meant when people said it was a GAME. Except that to most people these days, it is not a game. When the game is over, you don't continue to sit at the computer for 12 hours a day and pepper people with grade school level material that you think will make them feel bad.
Somewhere along the line the funny people dropped out and the "game" was hijacked by these unfunny, unwitty, unoriginal, uncreative caskur types. By no means am i singling caskur out. I only mention her nic because of the same collection of subwits and busy bodies who follow her from board to board to post hump her posts, day after day, month after month and year after year regurgitating the same tiresome personal hatred drivel. However, you can see different people doing the same exact thing Bawk Hall at any given time and probably any other so called hate flame forum.
Indeed we have a callout section here. I actually wanted this place to be a flame forum minus the hate fueled unfunny threads about other posters and all the other bollocks that entails. An amalgamation of flame and debate forums. A forum which focused on topics which arent other posters but which doesnt curtail flaming if it comes up naturally during the course of a topical discussion.
Scoundrel, deBauch, looney and I trade barbs all the time, sometimes vicious and witty and other times funny and witty but our posts are motivated primarily by fun. Not by grade school level slurs, soap opera drama, nerd internet domination plots or ongoing year long feuds started by "exclusive", flaming skull sporting reg teams of maladjusted, malcontent retards.
