Doctors to cut feet from baby's buttocks

By staff writers
January 23, 2009

THE amazing story of a little girl in Zambia with the feet of an unformed twin protruding from her buttocks has gained worldwide attention.

Eight-month-old Faith Mwampe is set to undergo a potentially lifesaving operation to have the horrific deformity removed while her 18-year-old mother, Mercy Lenganji, waits anxiously, the UK’s Daily Telegraph reports.

The Morning Starr details that Mercy had in fact been expecting twins after a scan during pregnancy revealed two fetuses.

But this picture of Faith’s bizarre condition, provided by Barcroft Media, reveal the true horror that became apparent when Faith was delivered.

One of four children, Mercy said her family has helped her with the stress of the problems, and that the Zambian Government had also provided financial backing to help with the costs of the surgery.

But good of the government to help out too.

I wished American Government would help that woman in Florida with the massive oedema on her leg.

I saw it on TV recently....the bottom part of one of her legs is so hideously deformed with a growth bigger than her waste.....she has people bandaging it hoping to squish all the fluid out.....not good enough, I feel.

I tried to google and bring the subject up thinking it might be a news item somewhere.

I didn't find anything. I was slack and should have got her name first but as usual, I watch the information programs while I am on the groups....that leads me to only picking up half the information sometimes...
