There is some confusion with some members worried about their emails being exposed to other members.

If you've clicked/ticked "hide email address", no one can see it except the admins and yourself.

I had the same confusion when I went to Megan's new SMF board like this one. I'm not an admin there but I could still see my email address in my profile. Other members there had the same concern and sure enough, clicking on their profiles, their addies were hidden to me and mine, from them.

Admins and only admins can see your emails and IP's. The admins here, unlike the admins at other flame forums like TDT are above givng ANYONE personal information about you, especially your emails and IPs....

You're 100 % safe here.

As some of you know, I have been the victim of having PI exposed at TDT which got up my nose.....BUT I was safe at Flame Champs and so I still have respect for that place.

There are two other statuses here that we can make members, for instance, "Global moderators" and "moderators".....a global moderator can see IP's but NOT an ordinary, "moderator"......If I made Bella or Arete a moderator, all they really could do was delete or change people's posts and that is about it....they cannot ban and they can only delete one post at a time.

these boards are better than msn I feel, except they let us down with shitty emotis but if we upgraded to a paid board, we'd have nicer emotis..

How does a messenger spam people?

I have never heard of such an action.

Sounds to me like your friends were pulling your leg and

trying to get you to stop posting here.

Yes, there are virus' out there that
are specifically designed for messenger.
I have been spammed when someone
else had a virus a couple years ago.
I never clicked one of the links but it's happened
to me so the virus is most likely sent through
messenger & I have a good idea who I got
it from & they are now blocked & deleted.   Smiley
