Pope wants humanity 'saved' from homosexuality

Pope Benedict XVI says saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behaviour is just as important as saving the rainforest from destruction.

"(The Church) should also protect man from the destruction of himself. A sort of ecology of man is needed," the pontiff said in a holiday address to the Curia, the Vatican's central administration.

"The tropical forests do deserve our protection. But man, as a creature, does not deserve any less."

The Catholic Church teaches that while homosexuality is not sinful, homosexual acts are.

It opposes gay marriage and, in October, a leading Vatican official called homosexuality "a deviation, an irregularity, a wound".

The pope said humanity needed to "listen to the language of creation" to understand the intended roles of man and woman.

He compared behaviour beyond traditional heterosexual relations as "a destruction of God's work".

He also defended the Church's right to "speak of human nature as man and woman, and ask that this order of creation be respected".

I can't see anyone saving man from himself, not even a pope.

He has high, high hopes, doesn't he?

Hmmm . . .

Something happened to me last night . . . I wasn't going to say anything about it but now that you've wrote this I think I'll tell ~

So, I turned up at 6.20 (ish)pm last night for the anual Christmas Carolling around the villiage.
We start off at the duck pond and work our way back to the pub . . .

there's someone at the door ~ I'll come back later.

I like this pope.

He runs around upsetting everyone.

First the Muslims, now the Homosexuals.

It isn't his job to be a politician, it is his job to tell it like it is.

The Catholic church has a long standing hatred of homosexuality.  It stems from the "be fruitful and multiply" section of the bible.

A lot of gays are Catholic Priests though.

The problem with the Catholic church is, the further away from the first century AD the more whacky it got....for instance, forbidding Priests to marry was a later addition and shouldn't have be allowed unless a person willingly wants to remain single.

Married people can become Priests....but single Priests cannot marry....there isn't anything fair about that.
