I just cannot imagine what you people go through with snow and Ice.

I would freak out.

I've had the chance of seeing snow twice and declined...lol

The two cities I visited had snow in the mountains. My mother went there to

see it but I stayed home [gandmothers house] or in the hotel in the air con at one place in Tasmania...LOL

I'm thinking it must have all those American movies or TV shows that

showed blizzards and people trampling through them and freezing to death

that put me off as a small child.

There is no way on earth I would
be able to sleep with an electric blanket!
I heat up like mad while I'm sleeping and
even just regular blankets make me hot.
Sometimes body heat is too much for me.
I'm like GET OFF MEEEEEEEEEE!  Don't touch
me, it's too hot for all that.  I keep my heat
set on 70 constantly and put the fireplace on
if it feels too cold but usually I'm the hot one.

We don't have central heating in homes in Perth....especially the old ones.....when I first married Kurt in 1984, I used to go to bed in winter, with socks, petticoat, nightie, dressing gown and the electric blanket on my side on 3 all night....he went naked with no electric blanekt. Grin

So, me no like being cold AT ALL....LOL

I met a woman who said, the only place she was ever cold, was Perth, and she lived in the UK, Canada and Tasmania Australia....she said it is because our houses aren't geared up for winter with central....and since winter is short here, why would we bother?

I try to keep my heat on 70 all winter but
times like these it seems cold.  If winter isn't so
long or cold I wouldn't have central heating either.
I feel we need it.  I also feel we need central air.
I don't know what I would do without A/C.  I also
keep my A/C set to 70-74 throughout the summer.

That being said, we have two HVAC systems for our
home & I have had the heat blasting down here not
knowing my son has the AC turned ON upstairs.  Talk
about a high bill.  So, now I've made a rule that if it's
too hot up there they just need to turn the heat to off
and open a window or two.
