It's 42F outside with light wind.

Hoping it will melt some of the ice on the streets!

It is midnight here Friday.....later on today, [friday] we will have a temp of 38C which is over 100 F

a couple of days ago in the outback of Western Australia [far north] it was 132 F......and a **** load of finches and native budgies died looking for water.....they flew to a place you might call a diner, and all tried to drink from the barrels of water outside near the taps and thousands died in the water.

I made a mistake too....it wasn't 55 C it was 45 C [113 F] .....and I have experience 46 C [114.8F] twice in my lifetime and that was 2 times, too many...

Please look at these pictures of the Overlander Road House who collected thousands of thirsty, hot and dying budgies and finches, native Australian birds.

Not all the pictures are as bad as the first one…

Perth sets January heat record

Posted 3 hours 50 minutes ago
Updated 3 hours 36 minutes ago

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/01/16/2468149.htm

Perth has recorded its hottest start to January on record.
The mean temperature from the start of January until today is 34.6 degrees Celsius. [98.24 F ]

Weather bureau spokesman Rabi Rivett says today's temperature peaked at almost 42 C [107.6 F] , but he says a cool change is expected for the weekend.

"Given we have had a very good start, given we get to stay on such a standard path, we could see some records there," he said.
"We are seeing a cool change for tomorrow and the weekend but then again warming up into next week."

It's 3 degrees F here and feels like 9 below.
I could use some of that warmth.

That really grosses me out.  Birds in those numbers
are creepy.

The airplane crash that just happened in NY is said
to have been because a flock of birds was sucked
into one of the engines.

And there was a Perth girl on board, Emma Cowan.....who rang her father from NY....she made our news.

It is funny how Perth People are getting associated with NY over the past few years...
