I love your yard, it makes me long so for summer. Here in Edmonton we've had the most snow fall recorded since 1971. Sheesh...

My front yard looks great.... its my backyard that is hell on earth..

the gruesome foursome  - the big bullies …lol

White mother Bantam and her very large babies… they never stop mothering even when they’re so much larger than their adopted mother. Its amazing.

The only thing I don’t like about the bantams is that they teach the babies to be timid of humans and chickens aren’t like that…. They love people…. I don’t know whether that is because we got a white bantam as an adult and a black one as well as an adult, or if their nature is like that anyway. I have only ever kept chickens, pekin ducks (also timid or wary of people) budgies and Cockatiels ….

It was warm here the last couple of days and all of the snow on the roads have turned into an oatmeal type slush.
Everybody gets their vehicles stuck at least twice a day if they're driving at all. I was stranded between a stuck car and a stuck dump truck for around twenty minutes today...

Cyclone Yasi - too late to evacuate...

Cyclone Tracy, Christmas eve 1974 wiped Darwin off the map... that was Category 4 with an eye 15 kms wide. This one has an eye apparently more than twice the size...

the sad thing about Tracy was, no one knew for 3 days, an Australian capital city was gone.... they're all getting plenty of water and the South West corner of the continent where I live is in drought....   .....

and they call us "the Lucky country"..... winds expected over 300 kms (186+ miles per hour)

..."I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!"...
