I always get all the balls out.  What matters is getting them out in large clumps.
Start with one colour ( I always start with blue) click on the multiples as fast as you can,
when there are no more blue (doubles) left then I moved to green....repeat...as I am
going on to the next colour then I go back and sweep up any leftovers that might
be made while collapsing the next colour.  I haven't been able to match the 4 grand
score again either so maybe it was a glitch or just luck in the way the balls
were set up.
