Obama’s American Dream: Servitude

Kurt Nimmo
InfoWars.com
November 7, 2008

“When you choose to serve — whether it’s your nation, your community or simply your neighborhood — you are connected to that fundamental American ideal that we want life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness not just for ourselves, but for all Americans. That’s why it’s called the American dream,” declares Obama on the newly fashioned Office of the President-Elect website.

Obama’s vision of the American dream, however, will not consist of Americans freely choosing to volunteer to work in their communities and neighborhoods. It will be a requirement. “Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.” (Emphasis added.)

And it will not simply be the young who will be “called” by government mandate to serve. It will be everybody, including senior citizens. “Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.” The words “call” and “require” appear to be interchangeable in this context.

As the Albuquerque Examiner mentioned yesterday, Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, wants compulsory service imposed on eighteen and twenty-five year old Americans. “They’ll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community,” writes Emanuel in his book, The Plan: Big Ideas for America. “These young people will be available to address their communities’ most pressing needs.”

It now appears Emanuel’s version of mandatory servitude, masquerading as patriotism, will not be limited to the young but will be imposed on all Americans, including retirees.

In July, Obama revealed his plan for “a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the U.S. military. In the speech, Obama said “People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve.” He also said this mass movement requiring servitude “will be a central cause of my presidency.”

Charlie Rangle has authored a bill that may be dusted off after Obama enters the Oval Office. It’s called the National Service Act and calls for a universal draft with two years of “service” for virtually all persons aged 18-42, with no deferment for college. The language of Rangel’s bill states that “all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42″ be required to “perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security.”

In the months ahead, we can expect “public service,” i.e., compulsory servitude, to be a mantelpiece of the Obama regime. It will be necessary because Obama will undoubtedly soon have no shortage of enemies — that is to say, people opposed to his policies — and a national Stasi framework, under the rubric of a “civilian national security force,” will be required to ferret out enemies of the state. In addition, “carbon criminals” will need to be identified and rounded up and shipped off to re-education and forced labor camps.

Considering the emotional zeal of Obama’s kool aid drinkers — frighteningly on display as Obama swept the election — there will likely to be no shortage of recruits to enthusiastically enforce his decrees, actually decrees passed down by the globalist New World Order.

In a historical sense, this is fascism on steroids.

Addendum

Obama’s crew have reworded the text on the “America Serves” area of the Change-gov website. The word “require” has been removed, probably as a result of criticism, and other passages have been rewritten. Does this mean they no longer believe you should be a slave on an Obama work brigade? Hardly. Joe Biden has said “rich” people making over $250,000 need to work more for the state, not directly but by surrendering an even larger share of their personal income through confiscatory taxes, thus revealing a disturbing mentality: the state owns you. It’s patriotic to be a slave.

That was Hitler's idea also and that is why he created "the Hitler Youth"...so it isn't a "new" idea by a long shot.

actually, it is a great idea. Traditionally when I went to public school, we weren't required to do any voluntary but Catholic school kids were required to do voluntary work.

Now, it will get the youth out and about and mingling, which is always a good thing, but in the past years, there has been a slump in community work to our detriment, I believe.

There are pros and cons to ideas and this one is no different. It will be good to teach youth a strong work ethic as the aging population need help and the paid workers in that industry are over-worked, under-staffed, hence clients are very neglected.

If it involves humanitarian activities like visiting the nursing homes for the elderly and running errands, it will be a good thing ....but if it involves "labour" then that can be a trickier area, for instance, what happens if they're injured doing a manual job?....who is gonna pay "compensation" if there is an accident?....

the other thing is, people might not trust the youth to 1. do a proper job, or 2. steal from them...

retirees are usually still "working".....a lot of them are offering free child minding for their grandchildren...

the whole exercise could work....give it a shot!!

The comparison to Hitler's Youth Brigade and Obama's "Civilian Service" has been made as well.  It sounds like Obama wants to keep busy all those who have free time on their hands, meaning the young and the old.

I read Hitler's political ideals and they're socialist ideals.

People say he was "right-winged" that is wrong, he wasn't.....history has been twisted.

When I speak of Hitler, mind you, it was pre-WW2.....Americans as well as many other people are only taught what Hilter did through the war years....so some of the other aspects of him are buried under the Jew issue.

I'm wondering why retirees and the very young should be required to do "community service"?  What's the point, other than Obama doesn't want people to have too much free time.

that is definitely one point.

the other would be to keep them away from finding what is going on from the media. I noticed that during prime time, most people in my country don't hear all the news but during the day, while people are at work there is plenty of news on Tv educating the housewives and unemployed and aged but the workers are virtually dumbed down.

I noticed this when Pauline Hanson was running during the late nineties as a real contender to usurp the two major parties who actually conspired together to douse her popularity.....what she was reported as saying during the day, was heavily censored and made to look stupid and nervous in primetime...when people got home from work to listen.

I have a feeling with the young kids it's a matter of indoctrination.  Hitler used similar methods.  It was a way of getting the kids away from their families and into a setting where they could be properly indoctrinated into the ways the government wanted them to think.

Yes very true. It happened to my son at high school. There was a strong movement by the teachers to encourage vegetarianism, so he became one....also, I went back to school during the early to mid nineties along with my son and yes, I was shocked with what our leftie teachers were teaching the kids....it was pretty bad how they made the kids feel guilty for things they had no control over....I spoke up though and so did the 16 and 17 yr olds whose parents obviously discussed current issues with them at home...

Obama's webpage, incidentally, has changed repeatedly on this issue and now appears to be backing off of the "mandatory" community service.

It doesn't surprise me.....it'll be over the insurance issue although they won't say that outright. If someone gets hurt or even fakes being hurt doing a job, as people do, then that is open to litigation...

this issue was brought up in my country one time and I spread it around about the insurance issue or I should day, workers compensation issue and they dropped the idea straight away....it hasn't been brought up since.

Actually, we have organized events though.

One is called "clean up Australia Day" where groups of people walk the beaches or the bush and collect the rubbish and bag it....then trucks come along and collect the bagged trash.

I haven't been bush walking since the dogs have died but strips of bushland besides highways look clean until you start walking through them and hell, you should see the rubbish in there....

I'm appalled.

I think Obama tests these things out on his webpage.  If it generates a lot of criticism he then has the webpage altered to say something else.

He did the same thing with his involvement with the Acorn group.  At first he said he was never connected with them at all.  Then when it came out he trained their people, he said he was never "employed" by the Acorn group.

Everyone knows politicians lie their arse off and people even expect it and worse, accept it...

We have an ABC interviewer in Australia called Andrew Denton. He had two hours with Bill Clinton one time [1 hour a week for 2 weeks] and there were two things Clinton said that stuck out in my mind and they were also in the ABC transcript archives. They were , (a) his regret was never being able to introduce medicare for all Americans and (b) he would have gone into Iraq but would have waited longer than Bush did....now, I even posted that archive transcript at my Avant-garde group somewhere, but it is buried under 100000 posts....when I went to repost it at another time the subject came up on another board, I went to transcripts on the ABC and guess which point was no longer there? That is right, the point about going into Iraq, he would have done the same thing George Bush had done.

Now that is something the lefties didn't want to hear.

I'm trying to educate the people that America, regardless of their politics [left or right] are going to deal with this war on terror...there is a difference though, while the Right wingers call it like it is, "soldiers" the lefties rename stuff to make it sound good and appease the masses and call them "peace keepers," but a soldier, is a soldier, is a soldier....do you see where I am going with this?

Unfortunately, the way my country is currently dealing with the "war on terror" is via the current wars going on.

They'll find an excuse to keep them over there.

They'd have to find jobs for them if they came home.
