Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says Australia is the fastest growing economy of all advanced economies in the world and the only one not in recession, though he warned the country was not out of the woods yet.
"Australia is the fastest growing economy of all the major economies; Australia has the lowest debt and deficit of all the major economies and Australia is the only advanced economy, as of today, not in recession," Mr Rudd told reporters in Canberra, after new figures showed Australia had dodged a technical recession with a shock 0.4 per cent rise in gross domestic product (GDP).
