I am very saddened to hear of this news about Travolta's only son.

It must be very tough for them.

That was one funny show!  Welcome back, (Mister) Kotter!
Gabe Kaplan was good in that and so was John Travolta, and several others.
John played Vinny Barbarino, an Italian kid with "attitude".  They all had "attitude".

I'm so sorry to hear about his son dying.

Is he a scientologist?  Is that the same "church" (cult) that Tom Cruise belongs to?

The L. Ron Hubbardites?  He was such a fraud.  He used to lock kids up in closets if they
did something he disliked.  He was a monster, if you read accounts written by people who
left his "church".

I knew a man (not very well) who died of heart problems who refused to see a doctor,
left behind a wife and kids.  He was well educated and was a financial officer at the company
where I worked.

This editor has a spelling checker and the words scientologist, Hubbardites, Kotter, Travolta, and Barbarino are underlined as misspelled.  Oddly Gabe Kaplan and Tom Cruise are not marked as misspelled.

Do the scientologists read their Dyanetics books?  (The User Manual for the Human Mind)

Dyanetics is also marked as misspelled.  This could get annoying.

I have to somehow make it through the night and tomorrow we have yet another eatfest at my cousin's house, so I have to be ready to depart by about 11:00 PM to get there on time.

Eatfest is also misspelled, so if any of you don't know what that means, I made it up.  It's a family get-together, an eating feast, to give us all an excuse to pig out.  I've heard that my cousin is ordering barbecue as the main course and we can all bring "side dishes" like baked beans, green beans, etc.  And of course, lots of desserts like my aunt's coconut cake she likes to make, and lots of chocolate and other kinds of cookies, pies, and cakes.  A good time will be had by all, or at least we will all stuff our faces.

came out.  I think we were like 10-12 yrs
old.

Did you used to watch Welcome Back Kotter?
I'll tell NOBODY, I swear.

I love John Travolta.

My favourite movies of his were the “Look Who is Talking” movies. The whole 3 of them were excellent but no one ever mentions them. Kirstie Alley, Olympia Dukakis were outstanding…great story lines. Everytime my cousins kids came over for a visit, I had to put those movies on for them….Or Grease, or Dennis the Menace. But nine out of 10 times, it was the movies “Look Who Is Talking”….and the two sequels.

That's right and I'm sure
he and his family will be under
scrutiny for their choices.

I like John Travolta a lot. I can't believe how that Scientology has claimed so many great people...

Yes it is and I wonder if he was taking medication for his seisures.

John Travolta is a scientologist and they don't go in for medications.

John Travolta's Son Dies
Posted Jan 2nd 2009 7:10PM by TMZ Staff

Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas tells TMZ the son of John Travolta died today.

We're told 16-year-old Jett was vacationing with Travolta and wife Kelly Preston.

There have been reports that Jett was autistic, though Travolta has denied it, saying he suffers from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition which often leads to heart disease.

UPDATE 5:15 PM ET -- Police just released more details. According to a report, Jett was last seen going into the bathroom at their private suite at the Old Bahama Bay Resort sometime yesterday. The body was discovered by the caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein (pictured bottom right with Travolta in 2006), at 10:00 AM today. The report says Jett suffered from seizures.

An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.

UPDATE 4:54 PM ET -- A police spokeswoman says Jett hit his head in a bathtub.

UPDATE: 4:40 PM ET -- Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in the Bahamas tells TMZ Jett's body would be transferred there on Monday.

UPDATE: 4:00 PM ET -- Travolta's attorney Michael Ossi says Jett suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he died on scene.

Robert Giden, president of Ginn Properties (which owns the Old Bahama Bay Hotel), tells TMZ, "The Travolta family has become like family to us at Old Bahama Bay and we extend our deepest sympathies to them."
